Wooden Granary Door from Mali

Among our recent African acquisitions is this hand-carved wooden granary door from Mali, constructed sometime in the 20th century. The door has exquisite carvings of animals and human figures, a wooden latch, and iron detailing across the top and bottom. It's a remarkable piece and unlike any other door we have seen in the U.S. All intact except for a six-inch wooden piece across the top of the latch. Cost of the door is $2,750.
