Vietnamese Tribal Chieftan's Coat This Vietnamese tribal chieftan's coat is a unique item, purchased from a tribal art gallery in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The coat includes animist symbols done in silk threads on a handwoven cotton base, with a linen/cotton lining. It was used for ritual events among one of the indigenous groups in Vietnam, and dates from the 19th century or earlier.
