Recycled Artillery Shell Jewelry

For the past year, we have carried several extensive lines of jewelry, although we've not posted these on our website until now. We have hundreds of stone and shell earrings from Thailand, all ranging in price from about $19 to $33, plus stone and shell necklaces and bracelets. Featured here, however, is a particular type of fair trade jewelry: brass rings, earrings, and pendant necklaces made from recycled bullet and bomb shells. Most of the artillery shells are from the Khmer Rouge period (1975-1979) in Cambodia, and the fair trade organization that makes the jewelry was just around the corner from the Cambodian apartment where we lived from December 2009 through April 2010. Our local customers appreciate the transformation of something that was used for destructive purposes into something functional and aesthetically beautiful.

Recycled bomb shell earrings are $39 per pair, and rings range from $48 to $52. Pendants on leather necklaces are $52 each. Our stock on these Cambodian items is running low, but we'll try to fill orders to the best of our ability until we're back in that Southeast Asian nation.

Thai Silk Scarves and Stone Jewelry

In addition to our recycled artillery shell jewelry, we have other jewelry and scarves from Thailand. Handwoven and hand-dyed or hand-painted silk scarves, such as those depicted to the right, range from, $28 to $42 and are available in our storefront gallery.
