Luis Lamothe Duribe

Born in Havana, Cuba, Luis Lamothe Duribe is an extraordinary artist who creates images of the land of his birth in whimsical, black-and-white linoleum prints.  Lamothe then prints -- on a small, handpress -- exceedingly small runs of his works, usually printing only 15 copies of the pieces he has spent a month or more carving into used floor linoleum.

We fell in love with Lamothe's artistry, and his dynamic personal style, and see him as one of the leading Caribbean artists of the 21st century.  Lamothe already has won several international awards for his works.
